Rowing machines are made to duplicate the actual rowing motions made on the water. And just like the real rowing, exercising with a rowing machine tones and strengthens the upper and lower body. Rowing is ideal for getting in shape, and exercises all of your major muscles groups– more so than any other piece of cardio vascular fitness equipment. Rowing machines are engineered to mimic actual boat rowing so that it feels as if you are rowing oars through water as you work the machine . As an oar is pushed forward and pulled back with a fluid motion in real water, the water functions as the resistance.

Rowing machines are the perfect transition between strength and endurance excercises , promising a wonderful cardio workout and strengthening your arm, back, shoulders and abdominal muscles. Rowing machines are engineered to mirror the actual workout which is performed on water . And just like real rowing, exercising with a rowing machine makes both the upper and lower body to workout. Rowing machines are easy to use.  You simply sit on the seat and move back and forth pushing the handles as you go . Your knees should be bent when you are nearest to the rowing machine’s base, straightening out as you slide back with each rowing stroke.  They should remain slightly bent at the furthest point of your stroke and you ought to keep your back straight all the time .

With that said , it is hard to get a more complete workout with one machine .
